Brady

Brady is, to me, the main character in the book because he is the one faced with the challenge of telling the truth or protecting his friends. Brady and his dad go out on the water almost everyday, fishing, crabbing, and just riding their boat to have fun. Once Brady finds out what Digger did, he wants to tell the truth but he doesnt want to dissapoint his friends. After Ben died he offered his help to Mrs. DiAngelo, anything she wanted him to do he would do it. That shows a lot about his character, he is a giving person that goes out of his way to help people. Also he knows whats right but also he cares about what will happen to his friends.

Conflict

The conflict in this book is Digger and Jt drilled a holes in the DiAngelos kayak. When Mrs. DiAngelo went to take her son, Ben for a ride in the river the kayak sank. Ben was admitted to the hospital and the next morning he died. The biggest part of the conflict is when Brady finds out that Digger and Jt did it, he is torn whether to tell the police or keep the secret and protect his friends.
